Getting
the Makeup That Works For You

If you wear
makeup, even if you only wear it on special occasions, you
might want to look at the different types that are out there
and find the one that works best for you. There are generally
three types: liquid makeup, powder makeup, and mineral makeup.
The idea of using mineral makeup is one that has not been
around that long, but it seems to be gaining a lot of ground
with many different people. This kind of makeup is very light
and airy, and the thinking is that it will not look like makeup
while still providing good coverage. No one wants to look
heavily made-up on a daily basis. They just want to look like
their skin is flawless. That's not always easy to do but it is
possible. Mineral makeup gives this flawless, natural skin look
that a lot of women really want and feel that they weren't able
to get with traditional makeup of the past such as powders and
liquids. That being the case, the growth of the mineral makeup
industry continues to get stronger today. Not all women are
onboard with that idea, though, because some people feel that
the old ways are best and they want to stay with them.
Many of these women are interested in staying with liquid and
powder makeup. Liquid makeup often does better at filling in
and covering up problems than powder makeup, so liquid stays
popular with people who have a lot of physical imperfections on
their face. The problem with this style of makeup is that it
can clump up and cake up quite easily, and it doesn't really
hide things that well. Instead, it can fill in lines and
actually accentuate them, instead of making them disappear.
When a person gets wet, either from sweat or rain, liquid
makeup often runs. This leaves unpleasant streaks on a person's
face and can make them feel and look less than their best.
People who want to avoid this but aren't that interested in
mineral makeup often choose to use powder makeup.
Powder makeup can provide a softer look than liquid makeup can,
and it doesn't run on the face when it gets wet. It can,
however, cake up or clump if it is dampened, and this can make
dark and light spots on the face. If your skin is dry, powder
makeup can sometimes make you appear flaky. This is hard to
hide, especially if a person gets close to you. If you choose
to wear powder makeup, moisturizing is very important in order
to keep these kinds of problems to a minimum. No matter what
style of makeup you choose to use, though, make sure you look
at all your options and determine which one will work the best
for you. If you don't like heavy makeup on your face you'll
probably want to avoid liquid makeup. If you have dry skin, you
might look at avoiding powder makeup. And then there are the
shades and colors. So many options are available to you when it
comes to what color or shade of makeup you actually need.
Matching your skin tone can be difficult, and it often has to
be done through trial and error.
